So at this time last week I had made a Viper but I didn't really have anything I could do with it so this week I set out to start making a launcher for it. Normally Vipers are launched from launch tubes aboard a Battlestar so I've used that as my starting point in the creation of a different type of launching ship. I'm building my own ship from the inside out as it were and before anyone calls me insane for building a whole Battlestar from the inside I just want to say it isn't a Battlestar. Instead I view it as a hybrid of 2 ideas that could have been used before the colonies made there Battlestars (because battlestars are frakin huge and would take a long time to build).
I think I'm done with this. There is 1 or 2 things I could change but I'm happy to leave it where it is. I'll get into the details further down this article so keep reading to find out more.
So the image on the right is where I was after working on this last week. The shell was there with some textures and I had even went and made a name plate for the craft. But it was far from finished so I decided to get on with it and finish the model. The result is a fully rigged and textured vehicle that could be used in an animation pretty easily.
