For this weeks project I decided to try and make a short animation from scratch of a character playing a piano. To do this I had to make a piano, character, a room and some filler to make the room more lived in. Unfortunatly I fell ill last Monday and was not able to return to this project until Thursday. However, I did manage to do some of the work (as scene in picture) but it was not to the extent that I wanted to go into. The character does play the piano to the beginning of the song "What I've Done" by Linkin Park but only about 20 seconds of it. The animation is not rendered but it is ready to be rendered.
What didn't get done:
- detail of the character
- Exterior view from windows
- other items like a Drum kit to be added to the room
- More detail inside the Piano
As for my next project I have been asked to make a basic 3D representation of Stirling Castle (which is one of the biggest in Scotland) for a same game that a friend and I are making. This model shall be make in Blender with the hopes of integrating it into a Unity game project. Not sure if this one shall be done in a week but shall update this with an appropriate response upon completion.
As I have just graduated and I am now out looking for work I thought that a change to my routing was in order. I call this the Hello World Phenomenon which is named after the first thing you tend to learn when programming. My new routine is aimed at starting and finishing a new project every week or so in order a help hone my skills in created detailed content in a short space of time.
Each project will be started on the Sunday and will have till the following Saturday night for completion. This will not include rendering of animations as they can take a longer than a week to render. These projects will either a still image render, animation or game.
The first project will be an animation of a character playing the piano. This will require the entire room and character to be created from scratch.
