This weeks weekend challenge was to finish off the bedroom series so a new series could be started next weekend. This weeks work involved texturing some objects, optimising the lighting, some minor modelling, positioning of the camera for the best shot, and finally the compositing of the scene.
This weeks weekend challenge was to focused on continuing the modelling of the bedroom. This was the plan but I had computer issues that had to be sorted first. You see, my motherboard that has slowely been dying for the last few months finally gave up the battle and so had to be replaced. Alas it did not go down alone. It managed to corrupt part of my Windows 7 operating system so that needed to replaced as well.
So after about a day and a half of stripping my machine (it has a lot of components), cleaning it out (dust everywhere), replacing the motherboard, putting back all the components, installing Windows 8.1, installing all the drivers and utilities, and finally reinstalling all my software, I finally have a working computer again. YAY.
So this week I had to pick a new series for the weekend challenge and I decided to recreate my bedroom. I already had a basic block layout of the room back from November when I rearranged it. The models consisted of the estimated length and width of each of the main objects in the room but lacked and height or detail. So this weekend challenge series will focus on modelling in the detail of each object as well as adding in the objects that were not in the original set such as the radiator, shelves, monitors, TV, Xbox, window, the CPU, etc.
