Lets start at the top of the new work and move downwards. So the first part I'll go over is the brand new mid-section. In case this in't obvious, this ain't finished yet (note: Nothing is). I've been experimenting with how I think the mid section would connect both arms and legs securely while providing mobility. Not quite as easy as it sounds.
The concept at the moment is to have 4 hydraulics which would act as the abdominal muscles and a spine made up of 5 or 6 segments held together by mini hydraulics (that are currently invisible and have totally not been left out). It should hold everything together while providing some freedom of movement. I think I'll stick so stuff in the middle there though as its rather barren just now.
Okay so the legs front and back swinging is actually controlled by a motor that sits where one posterior is. So in a way you could say the legs are powered by the booty (#bootypower). I should point out that a lot of the movement in real human legs is controlled by the glutes muscles (which as it fancy way of saying booty) so it is a little accurate.
The rest of the hip movement is controlled by the piston hydraulics at the top which is similar to the way I set up the shoulders. I've not tested it yet so I'm not 100% that it'll work but I am hopeful. The motor is connected to the top of the leg by a chain. I don't actually like the look to the tempory one a tt he moment so expect the change some time in the future.
Due to aerodynamic regulations, the feet had to be removed and replaced with these new "invisafeet" which totally work and are not made up at all. The actual feet are still in the design phase and so have not been built yet. The ankle is there and I think it will work. I might have made a mistake on the ankle and decided to roll with it. Time will tell if that was a good idea.
You may have noticed that I haven't mentioned the dreaded rigging in this issue. Well thats because except for an experimental hinge joint I made, I haven't done one. Thats right, it can move it arms but not its legs. YEah I'm not making a joke obout that. That would be crossing the line, the invisible line, like the feet (#Invisafeet).
Alight I'm calling it for this week/month. I didn't actaully mean to wait this long to past a new article but life got in the way (how dare it!).
