Hello and Welcome to the Weekly Round-Up. The Blog that details what I do week to week. This weeks events includes working on 2 3D printable projects. The first being a Pip-Boy case for an iPhone 4 and the second project is to make a Lightsaber statue.
I've been continuing to make the Pip-Boy that I started a week or so ago. I have a prototype that I think is ready to be test printed (shown above). The case should allow access to each of the ports and buttons on the iPhone so it can still be used while in the case. I chose to loose the ring part that the real Pip-Boy has that goes around your wrist and replaced it with 2 brackets that should be able to hold a band. This was done for 2 reasons. 1. Less material to be printed, & 2. So the case can be fitted to wrists of all sizes instead on just 1.
I just need to get this test printed. Once it is, I'll test whether it 1. holds together 2. the iPhone fits 3. If a strap can be fitted to it. I may also try painting it as when it prints, it will be plain and 1 colour.
I will be uploading this design to My Mini Factory and they should test print it for me. If it is successful, it will then be posted on there website to downloaded and printed by anyone. I'll link to it if it works out.
I started another 3D printable project this week. This one focuses on altering an old model of a lightsaber to turn it into a statue that can be printed. I've had to split it into multiple parts so it can be printed without extra supports. I'm currently working on the blade which will act as a base and support the whole structure. I hope to have this one done by next week and I'll upload it to My Mini Factory once the Pip-Boy has gone through. Hopefully that won't be too long.
Found my old PSP a few nights ago and it still had Metal Gear Solid still on it!!!!!! And it still hold its charge even though its like 5 years old and hasn't been charged in the past 2 years. So yeah I played Metal Gear Solid last night for the first time and it still kicks ass. Truly a great story. Only downside is the graphics have not aged well. I mean the game is 17 years old but even back then, they weren't great. I kinda want to recreate them now. I'm sure that thought will pass though.
I'm also trying to get all the Riddler trophies in Arkham Knight. I'm currently at 164 out of 243. I know I said I wouldn't do them but dammit I'm gonna get 100% on that game if its the last Arkham game there is. - see thats funny because it is the last in the Arkham series. Plus the Batgirl DLC comes out soon and it will probably have more challenges.
