Hello and Welcome to the Weekly Round-Up. The Blog that details what I do week to week. This weeks events include returning to work on the set I started a while back, and submitting my entry for the My Mini Factory competition. As usual, at the end there's the personal touch.
So after a break from working on this interior set, I returned to start work on the exterior which I can now reveal as a space ship. I had a vague idea of what I wanted to the exterior to look like but when I started to make it on Tuesday, I found the interior upper section got in the way of the design. I tried the rest of Tuesday with several other designs to make the exterior but now were relly working out. Finally, on Wednesday morning, I decided to alter what is to become the Bridge of the ship to accommodate the extra room above it. I ended up making it several meters taller and wider than I had originally intended
The raised floor was made for the original bridge and was only extended by about 1m length wise for the new Bridge dimensions. I just thought it would help show how much bigger it is compared to the old one. I also had to completely redo the paneling for the room and its still not finished.
I have now blocked out the basic shape of the exterior of the ship though I still feel like something is missing (I mean besides the details and textures). I'll figure it out, even if it takes me another week. But if I haven't by then, I'll just run with this design.
So last week I entered the competition on My Mini Factory to design them a logo that can be 3D printed (as thats what they do). Below are some of the designs that I created as well as the 1 I actually submitted. Each one should be able to be 3D printed (some would require supports, some not) and should be no bigger than 15cm cubed. Now I'll play the waiting game to see if 1: my design was successfully printed and 2: If I won.
lol jk. I'll be playing Fallout.
The Steam summer sale is on so I've got a few games that I've meant to play for a good many years. But I've still only been playing Fallout 3 because there are just soooooo many side missions like the Alien encounter, saving that guy from cannibals who think there vampires, and who can forget, finding out why people are contaminating clean water with radiation (seriously, 2 groups of people have done it so far). I did briefly play Fable Anniversary but I miss the star trail from Fable 2 and hated using there map system. I'll play it again later. Maybe.
