Hello and Welcome to the Weekly Round-Up. The Blog that details what I do week to week. This weeks events includes starting to build the Pip-boy design, and making some more progress on the Robot Rig.
I started making the Pip-Boy that will be able to house my phone. I started out by making a digital copy of my iPhone 4s so I could build the case about it. The phone model has all the main points of the original iPhone and is as accurate to the real thing as I could make it in terms of dimensions. The reason for putting in each port and the main sensors is so I don't accidentally cover them up when making the case. I'm trying to make it so that each of the buttons are easily accessible while its in the case (except the SIM slot as its rare for most people to open and close it and the back camera because it would be facing your forearm). Hopefully the case won't muffle the phones audio too much but I wouldn't know till I actually try it.
I've ran into a few issues while making this. The most common one being that since the case is so small, that the 3D printer wouldn't be able to print parts of it properly. This has lead me to make what I would see as improvements to the object, and then having to alter them so it would print properly. I've still got a lot of work to do on it in terms of adding in more detail. I'll then have to split it into smaller objects to make it easier to print later on. This will of course mean that the final model will require some assembly before use.
I've been adding some more controls to my robot rig mainly focusing on the fingers. I've now made it so each finger is controlled with 1 bone instead of 4 per finger. It should make it faster and easier to animate later on. I'll continue to work on the rig but its not the main priority right now.
Finished Arkham Knight. Well I've finished most of it. All I have left to do is the Riddler Challenges and lets be honest, I'm not going to do them. There's over 200 trophies left for me to find and its not worth doing them just to see an extra 2 minutes of video footage. Still, its a great game, highly recommend it although its probably best that you should go for a console version of the game as it seems like the PC version has some visual problems at the moment.
I'm now replaying the older Arkham games starting with Origins. Its easily the worst out of the Arkham games but its still not a bad game. I mean the boss system is a mess (I'm looking at you, Deathstroke. Second boss in and easily the hardest), the story isn't really that good, and some of the game-play was obviously copied over from Arkham City. That aside its a good game. I mean, you get to beat up random thugs in streets, what more could you want?
