This weeks events include; a small update to the site, some work on my new show-reel, a name being chosen for the Elite, and my first gun.
On Monday afternoon, I decided to make a few changes to this webite. Nothing too drastic, just a few improvements. The update included an alteration to the Banner picture/ title, changes to the information on the home page, moving the Blog tab back to the top bar, renaming portfolio to gallery, taking out my old Show-Reel, and updating the services tab to a much simpler design.
Hopefully, these changes will make using the site a little easier with more up to date information and better categorisation. Further updates will be come relatively soon with a new Legal information page and a brand new show-reel. I'll post more on this when more progress has been made
This week I have been starting to put together a brand new show-reel for 2015. It will show-case what I believe to be my best work out of my more recent projects. So far I have added in the Kitchen interior, part of the Davros Recreation scene, and the Lancaster Bomber model.
It is going to be a while before I release this show-reel as I want to add the Elite I have just stared making into it and it is far from being finished. There is a way around this however; I could stop doing the Elite as a Weekend Challenge and work on it full time on it. I would certainly finish it faster that way but, it would miss the point of it being part of a challenge series.
For now at least, it will remain a Weekend Challenge as I get the other works into the reel.
I've worded on this Elite now for 2 Weekend Challenges which sums up to a whole 4 days but I realised earlier this week that it doesn't have a name. That just would not do. Every character needs a name. I normally go for something over simplistic like Bob, Kevin or Todd (its a thing I picked up watching Stargate Atlantis, don't ask) but I have been convinced by a friend to go for a slightly more, how should I put this, unusual name.
From this moment forward, the Elite shall be known as Interspecies Luvin.
And by special request by the Author of the name, Allannah,I have to create a special pose to help emphasis the meaning of the name. That will take some time however since it isn't even rigged at the moment.
This morning I decided it was time that I made a hand gun. I had never made one before, I had always avoided making hand guns before as they seemed 1. too stereotypical and 2. Not much of a challenge.
Well I gave it a crack and after a whole hour and a half, I had what you see above. Its based off the M6C SOCOM from the Halo series. I decided not to include the Laser sight as you never seem to use it in the games so it seemed a little unnecessary.
Anyway, I only did it just for a bit of fun. I could go into more detail on it and add a few textures but I don't think I will.
