Hello & Welcome to this weeks edition of the Weekly Round-Up. The blog that details what I do week to week. This weeks events included continuing to build the Joker, starting to build a house, and upgrading to Windows 10.
Decided to continue to make the cloths for Joker this week. Mainly focused on making the trousers, shoes, buttons, & UV mapping parts of the mesh. I still need to make the hands, fix the bow-tie, and create the character rig. I may import this into a game engine so I may have to redo the hair & bake the textures on this model. I may also have to redo the face make-up (again!) with a new UV layout to hide the seems that apparently would show in a game engine.
Not sure I should share this yet. Only worked on it for like 2 hours so far. Basically, I saw a picture of a ruined house on-line and went "I can do something with that". I'm not following the design of the house that closely as I want it to be my design. The house actually reminds me of a time when I used to play the Sims except this time there won't be a pool, graveyard, or rooms with no exits.
I need to design the door and windows, and then I'll work on adding the railings and rood slates. I may even add in some greenery and a garden.
I updated to the latest OS manually on Sunday night after getting tired of waiting for that little Icon to change. The change went smoothly except for my graphics card driver which had to be changed to the Windows 10 version of it.
Over all, I like the new Windows. The Start menu is back which is nice and I have the option to use the full screen mode if I choose. It seems to Boot around the same speed as 8.1 which is always cool, and the redesign of the control panel if far cleaner and nicer looking.
All of that said, there are a few things that I want to nip-pick about. First, the sound when I plug in-unplug my headphones. I don't really need to sound to confirm that and it just annoyed me so much that I found the setting and changed the sound to nothing. Its a small thing but things like that can annoy me over time.
Second, the kept the same Windows Boot Logo. Does this make any difference to the way my computer works? No, but for every other version of Windows they got a new Logo so Why not here? When it first booted I wasn't 100% sure that it wasn't 8.1 booting because of that. Okay I might be being a bit of an ass with that one after all the thing only shows for like 10 seconds.
Third, the last thing I want to nip-pick is the log-in screen background. I want to change that and it seems you can't do it officially. Its not that I don't like the picture, I just want to change it to something a little more, I don't know, interesting. You only see this for like 10 seconds so I probably shouldn't mention it and probably won't ever again.
What have I done this week? Ummm... Played Arkham Origins, had a meeting about my Business Plan, ran 11 miles on Tuesday, and got a new running belt (don't worry, I'm not going to do another review). Nothing really to write about so I'll focus on Arkham Origins Riddler... sorry, Enigma Datapacks.
Riddler aka Enigma in this game has stolen data in order to blackmail people and stored it around the city in random spots in little packs that you can go around collecting. He also set up the network array that you can destroy. You would think after doing all this you at least get to confront the man, a phone call, face time, epic fight. You know something like what happens in each of the other games but no, you get nothing. Sure there is an actual Riddler Throphy like the ones from the other games at the end but thats it. Its just not like the character to up and leave like that without trying to get in the final word. Anyway its done now. I'm now trying out Story+ mode on this game which is something I'd yet to try. I'm not looking forward to the Deathstroke fight. I'm gonna die so many times it will make a time lord jealous.
