This morning decided to write an update on where I am with the vessel I've been working on. and now its the afternoon so I guess I should do it This week I redid the lighting system to reduce overall noise (as it was getting difficult to have decent shading), added interior hallways and rooms, and created some more hull plates.
At the moment there are 2 lines of connected rooms and corridors one above the other. I have yet to connect them together but each of them do connect to the outside hull so unless you want to go for a space walk, you can't change floors. I will add a connection between them soon.
Since the vessel is meant to a converted civilian ship, I've made several large rooms which are re purposed cargo bays. Each has its own function like being the CIC, crew quarters, sick bay, and bathrooms.
I've also started to kit them out to fit there purpose. The lighting on these rooms is all temporary just so you can see whats there other wise it would be pitch black as there isn't any windows in the lower decks. Thats why everything looks kinda bright.
This is only some of what I've got done in the past week. I would write more but this blog is already kinda long.
As you might guess, I still have a lot of work to do on this project. The most challenging part is actually creating a complex lighting system that doesn't interfere with itself. Not as easy as you would think it should be. I'm also keeping an eye on how much memory its currently using as I fear I'm going to max out my GPU memory again
