On Friday night I decided that I have not been doing enough modelling practice and so I set a challenge for myself over the weekend. The challenge was to model a basic form of my kitchen in 3D while giving it a slightly more modern look (it was built during the 80s).
The main differences between this kitchen and the real one are mostly the colours, lack of images on the titles, and the Taps which are a completely different design. All the cupboards have the correct shelving inside them and are actually modelled using individual lengths of materials just like the real ones. Some of them even have screws added to make them look more realistic. Although, most of this detail cannot be seen in the single render I took of the scene.
Although I did not finish the kitchen, I think I did not too badly. The two appliances that were missed are the Kettle (would go next to the toaster) and fridge/freezer (would go where the scene camera is). I may continue this scene later on adding in the appliances and other bits and bobs later on.
This coming weekend I will focus on doing the lighting of the Kitchen which will be a whole new design as the real one consists of one florescent light on the ceiling.
