Elite Time Line:
Modelling Base -> Sculpting Base -> Modelling Armour -> Texturing Armour -> Rigging -> Animating
This weeks Weekend Challenge marks the start of Animation process for the Halo Elite.
The first thing that was done was to write out the story for the entire animation including dialogue, actions, characters involved, and the general theme of the story. Also, the building interior that will act as the stage for this animation has been started.
The story itself revolves around the Elite taking on 2 Daleks and Davros which both a characters which are from the TV show Doctor Who. Why them? Because I already have those models and they are ready to be used.
I plan it to be a classic Brain VS Brawn type battle with the last one alive being the winner.
To make the fight a little more interesting, I am putting a limit on the weapons the Elite will carry and I'm adding an ability to Davros which I'm pretty sure he would actually have but has never been shown.
Part of the dialogue has already been recorded by myself as it is entirely original. I have applied a Dalek sound filter and another for Davros to the dialogue but the base of it is me so it won't sound quite right. I blame my Scottish accent.
I have also started to build the room that the animation will take place in. As I mentioned before it is loosely based upon a forerunner type building but it will lack some of the complex textures that the game artists would normally add to save me time.
I will be continuing to animate this taking it in small chunks challenge by challenge so it will likely a long time to complete it. I will as be trying to optimise the animation as much as possible to make the final rendering out as fast as possible.
I'm kinda nervous about this. I've never done a fight sequence before and this will probably end up being my longest animation & most complex to date. I think I'm going to need a lot of luck & patience for this one.
