Elite Time Line:
Modelling Base -> Sculpting Base -> Modelling Armour -> Texturing Armour -> Rigging -> Animating
This weeks Weekend Challenge had me returning to the elite animation to which is almost finished. This week I animated the fall, helmet removal, final pounce, the shock, and air contact. I also removed about 60% of the lights in the area and I have started to add in new ones in better positions and with better settings.
The most difficult thing to do this week was to remove the helmet of the Elite. To be clear, it wasn't that it was difficult, it was just time consuming to get right. The helmet is & was pert of the armour object that is linked to the Elite. To get the desired effect I have to duplicate the armour, separate the helmet from the rest on the duplicate, and then remove the elite controllers & links from the helmet.
This left me with 2 sets of armours, one with a helmet and one without, that get switched between in an unnoticeable pass, and helmet that I could do with whatever I choose.
All thats left ot be done is finished the little bit of animating left, clean the rest of the animation so it runs smoother, finish redoing the lighting, and apply the dialogue (optional step, you can understand whats going on without it.) Finally, it will need to be rendered out which will take a few weeks at least to do.
Anyway, that should about do it for this weeks edition of the Weekend Challenge. As always, you can follow me on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and Deviant Art for all of my updates. In addition to Weekend Challenges, I do weekly blogs called the Weekly Round-Up that are posted every Thursday in which you can see what I do throughout the week.
