I decided to make a swimming pool this week or to put it more accurately, I decided to recreate the swimming pool I used to go to from memory. Bare in mind I haven't been to this pool in rather a long time and I actually don't remember most of the actual pool area which is why the back wall is rather bare.
In fact, most of the time I spent was on tilling around the room. I used about 5 different types of tile varying in size and colour in and around the pool.
Another tricky aspect of the pool was the water. Using the normal water material didn't seem to work this time as it became to dark so see the bottom. I instead used a trick to make the water surface turn the light blue and also have no shadow. The result, anything below the surface of the water would turn blue. You can see it pretty clearly on the water splashes on the tiles. I actually used the wrong material there as small splashes wouldn't turn the titles blue.
I also added the water inlets that the pool had along with air bubbles but you can't see them because of the waters refraction. Yup, that was a wasted hour.
Thats it for this week. If you want, you can follow me on Art Station, Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and Deviant Art for all of my updates or to see some of the things I've done in the past. In addition to Weekend Challenges, I do weekly blogs called the Weekly Round-Up that are posted every Thursday in which you can see what I do throughout the week
